Omnivore's Dilemma

Rosemont, ON(Zone 4a)

I have just finished reading Michael Pollan's book titled Omnivore's Dilemma, and it has made such a huge impression on me that I must recommend it to everyone who cares about either their diet or the environment. The book is arranged into sections that cover agribusiness, organic farming, and gathering food from nature/gardening. The agribusiness section is an eye-opener. I had no idea that we are eating so much food derived from cheap corn, or that "corn fed beef" is produced under such horrible, toxic conditions. The organic farming section is a joy to read, and the final part of the book includes a very thought-provoking essay on hunting. It is an amazing book, full of things we ought to know.
