Sooooo Slow

I think I got rid of the assorted viruses, but now my computer is running painfully slow. I downloaded spyware doctor, and it did get rid of unwanted things. But, now the computer is just driving me crazy.

I ran a disk cleanup thingie, but that didn't seem to make much difference. The task manager thing says there are 46 processes running, that seems like a lot, but I don't know. I am running a disk defragmenter, it's been going for a half hour, and is only at 3% done. Will that help speed things back up to the way they were before this virus attack yesterday? Right now, files will open, but it takes several minutes from when an icon is clicked on until it opens.
