Wow, thanks!

I woke up this morning to blue skies and sunshine... and now birthday greetings from my Cottage Gardening buddies...

I'd say my day was off to a great start!

(Love that photo, Gemini!)

Thanks! OK, Neal -- spill! Which lily is that? Rubrum? And if that's Nicotiana alata 'Only the Lonely' rising up behind it, then I know *exactly* where to sow those seeds! :-)

Winchester, KY(Zone 6a)

That lily is Scheherazade, one I highly recommend, and Nicotiana sylvestris (woodland tobacco) keeping her company. Can't see 'em in that pic, but there were N.alata from seed you sent me in that bed too. Do you have, or want N.sylvestris seed? I still have plenty.

Happy Birthday Critter! :o)

Abraham Lincoln:
"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

Cathy, that's a wonderful photo! And a great quote from Abe Lincoln, too. Ooh -- and balloons! I love balloons!

Thanks, everyone!

Neal, I goofed -- meant N. sylvestris, still getting my Nicky's mixed up! I have seeds for that one, and they are great with the lilies. I can't believe they're actually taller than Scheherazade... I've got that one in my lily bed, and it gets at least 6 feet tall!

Saint James, MO(Zone 6b)

Hope you have a wonderful and blessed day, Critter! :o)

Hope you have the very Happiest of Birthdays Critter!! (This is a ladybug tram in the Chicago Bot. Gardens RR garden - zipping by too fast for me to get a clear pic - LOL!)

I've tried to convince DH that our garden could use a RR... thought that might get him more interested... but he's not buying it. LOL

Maybe this will help? (hehehehe)

You'll love that Nicky! Last summer they were over my head, so over 6', and didn't fall over!

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

"and didn't fall over"

Yay! Staking is such a dull task... and my stakes are never sturdy enough. This year, I have to try something other than bamboo stakes in the lily bed. Maybe I'll put in a few metal t-stakes and run wires between them to support the stalks... hmmm, sounds like I need to start a thread in the bulb forum. :-)
