Traveling to others gardens?

Lyndonville, VT

Do people actually travel around New England to others gardens for visits?

South Hamilton, MA

Iris people do if they are judges. Noone can judge all the plants on a ballot--certainly not able to grow them all. So we go to other gardens to see different plants. I would guess that other specialties do the same. There are botanic gardens, open gardens--garden club treks. We may not travel as far with the price of gas being up, but Yankee magazine gives places to see & I suspect other magazines do as well.

there are roundups where people from all around a region on DG try to meet up - sometimes at a public park or nursery, sometimes at someone's house/garden.

Yeah, sure we do. I think Kassia wins the award for traveling to the most DG gardener's gardens.

They have a garden tour here put on by a local club. I have never gone on it but one day I would like to see what its like. You can get some great ideas from other people's gardens in your local area.
