A (not really) "stainless steel" backsplash

Webster, NY(Zone 6a)

This may not exactly be T to T, but it is re-purposing! I took 5" x 7" pieces (I didn't cut them, they came that way) of aluminum step flashing (for roofing) and gave them a brushed finish with industrial Scotch Brite pads. The pieces are applied in a random, overlapping patchwork pattern. I still haven't decided whether or not to add upholstery tacks to the corners that show. I got the flashing for 40% off (from a home improvement store that was going out of business) so the whole project (three sides of the kitchen between cabinets and counters) cost about $20.
