3rd is a Northern Mockingbird. Today was the first time this male let me get this close to him.
DAILY PICS VOL. 64
Neat pic Nanny, That little Nuthatch seem to be offering a nut to the house finch. A very good host. Quite a variety at your feeder yesterday.
Debnes and Wallaby very nice The colors and marking on the Starling are great.
Sybil Lol making a star out of Starlings original.
GG are the goldfinch just starting to show up or were they there all winter?

Yes they are Deb, neat how you got both profiles & a straight on look in one photo!
These are the first I have seen this year. Normally, I do not see them in the winter.
Perhaps spring is lurking somewhere down the road.
GG
Bev I believe that is a Northern Cardinal. Gosh, you are one talented artist. That painting you did of the Blue Jay is fabulous!
Female Cardinal and female Red Wing blackbird.. I don't know the sex of the sparrows.
The sparrows are male House Sparrows in the first pic and on the second pic there is also a female House Sparrow on the left (she has a cream colored eyebrow).
Has anyone heard from dellrose?
Can anyone tell what this male is and the second one the female has her back turned
Blackish bird at the back is an immature Red-winged Blackbird; foreground is a female Cardinal. Smaller birds are Tree Sparrows.

Enjoying all of the pics everyone is posting!! Wish I had a better camera that could zoom in so I could get good shots of the birds at my feeders! Eleanor
Hi Resin, What are Tree Sparrows? I don't see them listed at Cornell.
I love everyone's pics - but Deb, really, how did you get the Sparrows to pose for you?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree_Sparrow Tree Sparrow
Nice flight shots of Buzzards wallaby! Angele THAT is why they call NM the land of enchantment!! Nice pics!
Here's a couple characters from this morning:
Mr Robin brought the Missus to get some cranberries. There were two females foraging around here...
Nice pics debnes!
Okay Eurasian Tree Sparrows- a close relative of the House Sparrow.
Resin are their numbers improving much here in recent accounts;I presume what Cornell says might not be updated?Any changes?
BTW, dellrose is fine;she's had the flu.
Such nice pics nanny! I'm looking forward to seeing the Hummingbirds this Spring and Summer!
Nice pic GG! I see your taking good care of all the birds w/ lots of suet out!
Thanks Pelle. Thanks also for that link re. the finch.
Yes, lots of suet. They gobble up suet like piggies, going through two refills per week. They seem to prefer the location of these feeders. If they don't want to hang on the feeder, they can stand on top of the bird feeder and eat suet. Originally, I put out four different flavors to see if there was a preference--guess not, they eat all of them.
GG
indiana_lily - The Northern Flickers are so beautifully colored. I have only captured a couple of photos and they're really bad. Thanks for sharing yours.
You're right - no more than one hummer at a feeder at a time in my universe! Nanny must be good with Photoshop.
LOL, Sybil!! I didn't even think about photoshop!!
LOL sybil, wonderful pick!
indiana, Nice pics! I've been hearing the Flicker around but haven't been able to spot him through all the trees.
Thanks burn, angele, Deb, anyone else, lol, going so fast here! pelle, that's the same Tree Sparrow as I have posted above. They are smaller than HS, with a stuck up tail, white band around the neck and a black patch on the cheek. They don't have the grey on the head either.
The Tree Sparrows have come to my netted suet balls.
