Great shots debilu!!

That must have been fun!

Thanks Pelle and clerkie. It was a lot of fun, and today they were feeding one after another, and I frequently had 2 in my hand. A nice pick me up this afternoon.

Did you take the photos yourself? Their wonderful!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes, I even videotaped for a few minutes because they were feeding so frequently and I heard a woodpecker pecking in the background, so it's fun to watch that too.

Georgetown, SC(Zone 8a)

That's amazing! The Titmice in my yard are so skittish, I can't imagine them eating out of a hand! Wow!

Nanny - I love your poor Miss Cardinal with the bad hair day. :)

I finally spotted a Pileated WP yesterday, but that fella wouldn't come down out of the tops of the pines. This was taken of him about ...maybe 40 feet up. Not so great, but I was so excited, that I kept the pic. :)

debilu, when you post the video be sure to give us a link to it.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I don't know how to post a video....

Marlton, NJ

You would post it on Youtube or another video hosting site then put the link to it here.

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

Do you have to join youtube? I've never tried.

Awesome debilu!!

Hi folks, these are some great pictures! Hope it is ok for me to jump in. It has been more than a year and a half since I've visited Dave's Garden. I used to be a subscriber and my favorite forums were the wildlife forums. I can't remember there being a birdwatching forum back then. My main hobby is nature photography; mostly wildflowers and birds. I live in New Mexico. I've never seen a Cardinal or Chickadee here (in New Mexico) so your pictures are a real treat!

Well welcome back Angele! The BW forum is "new" sort-of. Started up about--what--maybe a year ago guys, am I right?

Marlton, NJ

Sorry debilu I just got back. I would think you have to sign up to post videos.
I'm sure there must be a FAQ there.

Very nice pics guys!

Angele, Your welcome to jump in anywhere here. :-)

Thanks everybody! I'm loving your photos! Of all the photos posted so far the only I see around here is the Junco. The cardinal we have is called the Pyrrhuloxia and we have a Scrub Jay.
Here is a photo of a Phainopepla, a silky flycatcher I saw a few days ago near my home.

Nice Phainopepla! I think that's the first one we've had on this forum, thanks!

Welcome angele. It will be one of your jobs to show us wintered-out northerners a little green stuff. Can you do it? Different birds will be good enough if that's all you've got! :)

:-) original_sybil but sorry it is drab & gray here. Much of New Mexico is getting snow today. I have started some seeds and should be able to plant outside in a month. I brought in a young Bougainvillea for the winter and it is blooming its heart out in my living room. Very cheery!

Marlton, NJ

Beautiful pic angela; thanks so much for a new one for us!

Klamath River, CA

Thanks wallaby 1, I was thinking along the same line.

The chili made me laugh. I used to live in deer country and sprinkling chili powder on rosebuds assured me of blooming roses. Here the quail eat most of my plants so i tried chili powder on a newly planted flat of potulaca. Quail love chili powder. They mowed down the portulaca within a half hour!
