Protea ID

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8b)

Any assistance with providing an ID for this protea is appreciated. It resembles a bright deep pink or a red king protea (Protea cynaroides); however, I have been unable after searching since November to find a photo that matches it well. Part of the problem is that the bloom is just beginning to open and most of the photos that I have located show fully open blooms. It was blooming in October at the Kula Botanical Garden in Kula, Maui, Hawaii.
