Hi, got seeds to cacao yesterday from Tobago. Wonder how I shall do to succeed with sow, and grow.
The beans are now very fresh, just harvest from a cacaofruit. Shall I let them dry or shall I sow immediately. Wath growing media shall I use, pure soil or..... grateful for help

Cacaobean/seed - how to grow
Aloha hobbyodlaren, and welcome to TG.
Cocao seed needs to be very fresh, as yours is. Plant as soon as possible and keep warm and damp for germination. I believe that ordinary potting soil is used here, but I expect any medium that you can keep damp would be okay. The seeds will often start germinating inside the fruit!
In Hawaii the trees are mostly grown in dappled sunlight, I am not sure how they are grown elsewhere.
Good luck with your beans, and please let us know how they are doing.
Jenny
Thank you Jenny I have put them into growingmedia now
