Hi everyone,
On Pelle's request/invitation, it's my pleasure to begin yet another volume of birds with this Great Tit. I can now identify when this bird visits us. It has a melodious call. It sings - as if to call me out - for a few minutes on different trees and then flies over to the neighbour's garden. This one is sitting very close to me - about 8 feet from the camera - no idea if it was fearless, on Thevetia peruviana branch. But it gave me this pose.

Thank you very much mrskinsey for that pic of the house finch, I have seen these birds at my feeder, and couldn't figure out which ones they were. Great to know what they are.
Burn , how did you hollow out that coconut, that's such a neat idea. Wonder if they would do well as bird houses too?
hole's not big enough for you to have gotten the meat out of the coconut is it?
Haha, very cute adel!
Oh look I got a decent shot of the house finch LOL what's the little grey bellied one? not the one with it's head in the ground but the other one beside it? is that a purple finch female?
I'm learning these birds. It's good to know that I can come here and find out which ones are feeding at my birdfeeders.
after looking at the picture, it is kind of fuzzy, sorry
White-crowned Sparrow, adult (centre) and immature (right).

Thanks everyone.
Kathy - hi and welcome to the bird forum. My coconut was cut with a rotary tool. I thought the birds would go for the coconut meat, but they didn't, so I used a knife and slice the insides of it, and scoop all the coconut out. I left it for the summer, hoping it would be use as a bird house, but nothing happen. So now it serves as a feeder. The chickadees and some finches will use it. I've even seen a woodpecker on it.
Pelle I kinda like your woodpecker. He seems to be saying ," Who are you , and what do you want?" LOL
MrsKinsey, nice to have you back, and nice series of pictures.
Oh yeah, cool.
I've seen some quail at my house too. Their too cute they way they run around the yard LOL
