Lots of these in the yard today. Brown Headed Cowbirds and the female Redwings that raised them.

I don't normally see too many Cowbirds.
They are so pervasive with the Redwings that I'm surprised we still have plenty of redwings.
This is only about 10% of the flock in my yard. They were strung out for about 60 feet.

I get SO many cowbirds... and they're kind of pretty actually. But those suckers can gobble down the birdseed!
So far they mostly stay in the yard, preferring to eat off the ground. Some cheap milo will keep most of mine away from the feeders. The Grackles are another story, as they like everything.
