Thanks for starting the new thread Debin!

We had a snow day today for the first time in years at the school I work in here in Tn. It wasn't that cold out so I decided to try some outside winter pics. I think the birds were so hungry that it didn't take them as long as usual to come back to the feeders after I set up with the camera.

Peanuts in the shell are a sure fire lure for the blue jays.

Here we go, diving in for the loot.

I have noticed lately that my mockingbirds are hanging out in a pair. The two of them don't tolerate any other birds near their berry bushes including other mockingbirds. I wonder if they stay together as mates for a long time? Here is one of them looking at me by the feeders. They supplement their winterberry diet with feeder goodies now and then.

Oops - clicked on the wrong button! Here is that mockingbird looking at me.

How about a male red-bellied woodpecker in flight?

I love your pictures, Lily!! Blue Jays are definitely my favorite!!

Dave, I've drooled over your Tufted Titmouse and Eastern Blue Bird threads. You have an amazing talent! I showed your pictures to my 10 year old daughter and she was just speechless. Just gorgeous!!

I did manage to snap off a decent Blue Jay picture, but unfortunately, the background is not nearly as nice as yours, Lily! If I could just get the Jays to pose in the correct place, that would be amazing. ;)

Very Nice pics Lily! Its nice to see the Mockingbird!

Dave,Great catch on the Red-bellied Woodpecker in flight!

Nice pics indiana! My Blue Jays didn't make an appearance today but I could sure hear them!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Lily, great pics!! That first shot is to die for! I find the jays very photogenic, so I love taking pics of them. Cardinals are a real pain.

By the way great shots everyone on the last thread!!

Dave and Lilyf: Amazing shots of birds in flight. When I try that, it's usually a vaguely bird-like blur. :)
And I love seeing the Bluejays. We have seen them only occasionally this year for some reason.
Adel: Thanks for the "cool" Quail to get things going..and Resin, for your handsome Goose.

The past few weeks the Muscovy ducks have taken to hanging out on the roof tops and in the trees.

Cool scenery Adel with the Quail in the snow!

Lily the shot of the BJ swooping down is beautiful!

Dave your WP in flight is amazing too!

Debin, Love the ducks on top of the roof!

Nice Brant Goose Resin!

We may not have snow here now but it did dip down in the 20s last night, so this Mourning Dove went ice skating... Don't worry, the little pond didn't freeze. :-)

Thank you Pelle, If you ever find a feeder, that keeps the Starlings away, let me know.

Here we have a Hairy WP on the wrong feeder.

You can really see how much large the Hairy is than the Downy in some feeder like yours.

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Nice pics, burn!

I don't know why that one posted twice!
