My DH brought home some coffee grounds from the local Starbucks as a suprise for me (woo hoo!). I've read some posts about mulching the grounds 6-8" into the soil, which would not be too hard. But, my question is . . . I also bought a bag of composted cow poop this weekend - do I use them together in the same area, or do I use them separately?
Sorry if this has been addressed in the past. I've looked for coffee ground posts, and compost posts . . . but didn't find anything about if it's good (or not) to use them together.
Thank you for your help.
Coffee Grounds and/or Compost Question
Syrumani,
The coffe grounds are good, but fresh high in nitrogen. So I guess it depends on what you want to fertilize w/ cow poop and coffee grounds.
I'm open as far as the coffee grounds go. I had gotten the composted poop to put in the areas where I was going to grow gourds, and maybe tomatoes.
You can use them together if you want. The poo is the fertilizer, the coffee grounds will help draw in the worms.
Great! Thanks, doccat5 :-D
Just be sure you spread out the coffee ground so they don't clump up.
