Yellowing heliconia- please help

I have a cluster of heliconias growing in an area that is mostly shady but gets a bit of morning sun. I believe this is psittacorum-type heliconia but I am not sure. It looks like that type of bloom, anyway.

The new growth is very yellow and gets brown spots on the edges and within the leaf. I fertilized about a two months ago but the plant continues to look worse.

Any ideas about what I should try to do to bring this plant back to health?

It would be helpful to know what type it is; can you post apicture?
Some of mine just don't look great in the winter months.
