Birding Festival in Florida

Merritt Island, FL(Zone 10a)

The Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival (January 23 - 28)

http://www.nbbd.com/fly/index.html

is a super place to be in a couple of weeks. Many field trips led by some of the best birders in the country.....often by the people who write Field Guides.

Lots of exhibits, seminars, workshops, book signings, vendors, tour operators, etc. etc.

I'll be helping out at the Merritt Island Refuge beginners tours (listed under workshops) and maybe in the MIWA Bookstore (Merritt Island Wildlife Assn.)

This is the 11th year for this Festival-they attract lots of birders etc. from all around the USA.

Merritt Island, FL(Zone 10a)

Tallahassee to Titusville-only 300 miles.
Directions:East on I-10, South on I-95...hard to get lost

No snow or ice on the roads, no mountains, no Boston drivers or Big Dig.

Probably take y'all about an hour and a quarter.

Piece of cake (or Key Lime Pie).

Saw 200+ Roseate Spoonbills and a bunch of White Pelicans, Really big 'Gators, Reddish Egrets, 'bout a thousand Ducks and a couple of Bald Eagles on the Refuge Thursday.

Marlton, NJ

That sounds like a great one; wish I could go.
