I wish I'd had my camera.....

There was an eagle sitting in the top of a tree last week. It was 2 mi. W. of town by a large pond. It was 40 ft. off the ground and 30 ft. from the highway. I was so astounded. There are several nesting pair in Wichita too.
A couple of years ago we saw several hundred hawks sitting in a large open field. They had each left about 25-30ft. between each other. They had done that at least 2 times, because my hubB and I both saw them on different days.
I grew up in KS. but I never saw or heard of pelicans migrating through here. I didn't believe my hubB when he told me about them at the same pond as the eagle. We later took a trip to a small county lake 30 some mi. away and I saw a flock of pelicans in KS! Now I believe it.
