You're welcome. I shot a series of them running away from my garden, across the street and up the hill. They pretty much lived in the neighborhood all fall. One of my neighbors is a serious turkey hunter, so I always counsel them to head in the opposite direction.

I can see why it makes you laugh, boojum - I did, too!

Some people call me a Snow bird.................I can't figure out why they do.

Gee if it really is a snow bird, it probably lives year round at your house. Your summer up there has to be...what 1-2 days?

Everyone in our area has always called Junco's snowbirds according to DH. I never noticed them until I joined this forum. (and yes, I wake up in a new world everyday)!

I had wondered what in the world bird Anne Murray was talking about in that song "Snowbird."
Now I know.
No snow in my backyard. TONS of juncos AKA snowbirds.

Oh man. That is so sad!!

My very favorite singer!! I have all of her songs - simply beautiful...."Our" song is He Needed Me.

This is what I like about spring seeing the babies hatch They always have nested there in our Burning bush.
