Scotish Wool what to do with it ?

MY Dad's SO was cleaning out years of "stuff" and decided to give me yards of plaid wool from Scotland.

She was telling me how originally it was attended for a suit ... but in todays time, i can not see me in a red and green plaid suit.

my sister was saying to make a Christmas table cloth and place mats .... but i'm still undecided.

any ideas??

I'll try and add a photo of the material later. But green and red plaid is green and red plaid.
