Nice pics adel!

Hello, I'm a newbie here. One of my cats chased a young quail hen into the barn just before dusk lastnight and she flew up into the vent as high as she could go. My cat tried to figure out a way to get up there but to no avail. When I went out to feed my chickens this morning I saw her scurry out of the barn, (all 3 cats were in the house sleeping) she headed right straight for the feeder. I'm sure she'll get back with her covy. I put a wildbird block out and hang a large feeder from an American elm tree right over the driveway. Whatever seed falls out or rather is knocked out of the feeder falls in the dirt so the other birds not only get the seed but they get grit as well and we don't have strange plants growing in flowerbeds. I also hang a suet cage. I have Sparrows galore, Oregon Juncos, Scrub Jays, Flickers, Quail, Mallard ducks that eat on the bird block, Hairy and Downy Woodpeckers, Shrikes, Kestrels, Cooper's Hawk and a Sharp-shinned Hawk.
It makes for a very interesting viewing. I love watching all the different species of birds. Love all the pics.

Wow, I just started this thread, and already 14 post, and 78 views. Neat. Thanks for joining in. Adel who is the little blue bird in #3 never seen them before. Nice pictures by the way.
For some reason, we are getting a lot of Pine Grosbeak this year. I never had that much the other year. Once or twice, I've seen the Rose breasted, this year.
Last year, I've seen the Rose Breasted quite often , and the Evening GB I've seen a few time. I'm still waiting for them to show up.

Welcome Gardener, if you have a chance, show us some pictures of your birds.

Nanny: nice Hawk

I have a hard time to get a picture of these little guys this year. They don't stand still long enough.

When I buy Pork roast,or steak, I trim the fat off and store that. but we can also buy some here.
In our neck of the woods, they have this tradition, Saturday's supper is Baked beans. :~) . But I use shortening also.
