Twice this week I have had large numbers of robins in my yard. A couple days ago there were about 50 that I could see, and today I stopped counting at 80. Should I put out some special feed on the ground for them?
flock of robins passing through or staying?
Hi Julie, The Robins eat earth worms. I have heard some people say they've seen
them eat crumbled suet but I've never seen that myself.
That is alot of Robins you had!

Hi Julie, I've seen Robin eat the little crabapple leftover from the previous season, when they arrive in spring. They would probably eat apple too.
We've had many 100's of them for several weeks now (this is unusual, as we usual only see them in spring, and not in these numbers at all). I've seen them eating the remains of blackberries on the vine.
I may put out some pieces of fruit, but don't want a lot of rotten fruit laying around if they don't eat it....well, the raccoons may get it?
Hi Julie, Yes do not leave it out overnight.
