Pelle has asked me to start a new thread and I am pleased to start with a photo of a Female Cardinal taken today. We came from here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/797043/

Thanks for asking me and I hope I don't mess this up!!

Rose, what a great photo of the female cardinal.
Here are some more evening grosbeaks from today.

This is an unusual angle that points up the big beak.

Thanks Marilyn, Doug, Behop and Pelle! I was so nervous about starting this new thread I thought I would pee my pants before I got it all done! Whew...not easy for this old gal to learn new tricks! LOL!

Behop, Love the pics of the GB. That second pic is the bomb!!

Here is another shot of the FC playin hard to get!

Rose, Bebop and Burn; very nice pics!

I took the following photos Thursday and Friday before the bad came today, on Saturday. Being that both days were chilly and raw, I opted to take pics through the window. Dee getting a BOSS (black oil sunflower seed).

I get groups of Titmice every couple of days.

Marilyn, I know those birds appreciate all your feeders and I sure enjoy seeing them! That Blue Jay really struck paydirt...LOL!

Deb, In case you haven't guessed I'm into darling and that Titmouse is just that. What a fab shot!

It has been so cold here so I took this pic hanging out of the bathroom window...we only have one bathroom in this old house and poor DH does not appreciate sharing in this way!! LOL! This little GF pecked around on the ice and finally got a BOSS. I love these birds...when all else fails they are always here to entertain!! Isn't he darling?

He is cute debilu!

Nice pics guys!

Yes he is a cutie dellrose!

Very nice pictures everyone! I love the pine grosbeaks, Burn! And the TuTi is so cute! I could just imagine having to hang out of a bathroom window to get good shots, Dellrose! Funny. :)

I have a very confused Downy this morning who thinks he's a ground feeder....

Mockingbird trying to keep the Starlings in check. I'm always happy to see a mockingbird go to the tree with the feeders on it, because the feeders are usually overrun with Starlings at that time....

do you ever feel like someone's watching you? :)

For some reason that says 'Work hard for the money' is going through my head. Imagine how hard they would have to work to find food if it weren't for people with feeders.

Great pics, all!

I'll just sneak in a bite....

Cute pics indiana!

The only time I saw a Downy on the ground was when he was retrieving a chunk of suet he dropped.

I'm posting a few photos this morning-these were taken a few days ago during a snowstorm.

A Red Breasted Nuthatch. We don't usually see too many of these around here but because of the drought we are having there is a lack of food for them in the north so they have come further south this winter (or so I'm told!)

One more-taken a few days earlier. I love blue jays and put whole peanuts out for them every morning.

Very nice pics Deb!

Thank you, Pelle. They turned out fairly well considering that they were taken through my grungy dining room window (the glass is very old and I'm not a very good window washer!)

Van Etten, NY(Zone 5a)

Deb, that's how I'm taking mine these days too. The weather is just too fierce for me. I give the birds lots of credit for surviving!

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

Awesome pictures, Deb & Nanny! I especially love the blue jays and wbn!!
Thanks, Pelle. I think the competition on the nuttybar was too fierce for the downy, so he resorted to the ground until everyone left. He eventually found his way back up the tree...

New to bird watching ... I really enjoy these threads (OMG vol 41)

What kind of wood pecker is in the picture posted by indiana_lily ["do you ever feel like someone's watching you? :)"]
I see one everyday in my yard hanging on the suet feeders, with the downy WPs.
