This picture is a composite of 3 shots of the same bird at a high altitude. My I. D. is Rough-legged Hawk light morph.
I. D. confirmation help please.
Your first one does look like a light morph RLH.
#1 and #3 are Rough-legs, pale and dark phases respectively.
#2 I'm less certain of, it doesn't have a dark terminal tail band, and also looks to have a fairly heavy bill (Rough-leg only has a small bill). If it wasn't December, I'd wonder if it was Harlan's, though that would seem a little unlikely at this time of year.

Resin, all of the photos, were taken on April 21, 2007, during the spring migration, would that affect your I.D of #2. Now that the weather is cold and dark, I have been sorting and labeling photos, that had been on the back burner.
Thanks Gary
Thanks! Makes me think Harlan's is more likely - I'd assume their spring arrivials would be at about that sort of time?
#3 could also be Harlan's in that case. #1 remains definite Rough-leg
