Need Feeder Suggestions!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Here is a pic of my APS from WBU with the seed catcher tray I got last week. Obviously I need a couple feeders to hang on the arms. I am having a hard time trying to decide what I want. I need you all to throw out suggestions on what you would add next!

This is an unedited photo to show the pole.

Hi nanny, It would be good if you told us the feeders you already have so we don't repeat.

I thought of that just now!!!

I have the small hanging tray, & WP feeder from WBU and the Droll Yankee Tube feeder that our all in the tree where I photograph the birds. I have a small thislte feeder on a shepard hook too.

Okay thats a suet feeder.

How about a Hopper style feeder. They come in all differnt sizes and shapes.
Heres one page on them.

Heres another page.

Be sure to check out sizes so you don't get anything too big for the shepherds hook especially with that platform feeder below them. And heres another.

What is your tube feeder like?

Can you show a pic please?

I am not real thrilled with this particular one. It only has 4 feeding ports and is a pain to clean. The birds really do not use it alot.

I was thinking I need something that is enclosed would be nice when it is wet out. I will be adding a 2 or 3 foot extension at some point to raise the hooks up higher. I will have to buy the hook thing to hang up & lower my feeders too. I have to stand on a chair to reach the hooks now!

I think something like a hopper feeder would be a nice addition and all the birds should be able to use it as long as its not one of the tiny ones.

Let me look around a little more for some ideas.

Lebanon, OR

What I did because of the mess with the birds, is to get cheap pizza pans at the thrift store and put on the bottom of all the feeders. I have 3 different styles of feeders in the tree one at the edge of the house for thistle and two in the garden for the messy feeders like the red wing blackbirds and the jays...

If your getting alot of woodpeckers maybe a Peanut Silo for one side would be good.

Or how about something similiar to this. Notice the perches look comfortable.

LOL! I don't know if I should even make any suggestions here! Pelle knows I have alot of feeders and want more. ;-) Pelle, you're giving me ideas for more feeders that I don't have! LOL!

I am seeing a couple on bestnest.com I really like. I can get an adapter and mount a hopper on the post between the hook arms put a silo on one hook & maybe that triple tube feeder on the other!!!!!

I was at WBU today and I picked up the DInner Bell feeder and tossed the tube feeder. I hated that one.

Can one really have too many Marilynbeth??? LOL

Nanny,

LOL! Nope, you always want more! ;-)

If you're interested, here's a link to another place that has lots of feeders. I've never ordered from them, however. A good hopper feeder with plenty of space around is a good one for Cardinals.

What is a Dinner Bell feeder? What does it look like?

I've been hesitant to mention any that I have, since I might be spending alot more money on feeders than you want to. You can always look at the tread about feeders and get some ideas from me and everyone else.

Nanny,

I've seen that feeder before, but didn't realize it was called the Dinner Bell. What are you going to put in there? Seeds or mealworms?

Burn,

Nice pic!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

For now I am putting seeds. But, if I can get past them squirming...ugh.....I may try some mealworms in it. But I know that can get a bit expensive, so I will have to think it over. We have lots of Bluebirds here and I would love to draw them in closer.
