Today's Weather in Your Garden - 8
30, gray, high of 37
Nice photo Pixie - to look at only of course ;)
Weeklong forecast is mid 20's and partly cloudy.
Celeste - pretty snow shower shot! We'll be heading back up there into the squalls for Christmas. Hope it snows on Christmas Eve, but then stops for us all for awhile!
Aren't we demanding.
Yes......it does sound that way, huh? LOL Just a wish......nothing like a little bit of snow at Christmas......then, that's enough!!
I don't want any! If it does, family doesn't travel to our house.
There's weather? she asks, lifting her head up temporarily from marking the last of the term papers . . . now for the final exams. . . sigh.
When is spring coming?
Hang in there, Michaela! Just give 'em all A's and be done with it!! LOL
My instructors must of had too much time to kill then with that logic.
COLD THIS MORNING!!!!
7°
Barometer: 30.28 in and steady
Humidity: 82%
Visibility: 8 mi
Dewpoint: 3°
Wind: Calm
Sunrise: 7:05 am
Sunset: 3:59 pm
Ooh - that IS chilly Celeste! 33 here. Supposed to be in the 40's tomorrow. I still need to get bulbs in!
It's cold, wet, and just crappy outside. I don't like this transition...either give me all cold, and freezing, or just make it wet...
My Komondor doesn't like getting her feet damp, but she loves the snow, we end up with atleast 1 or 2, number 2's, during this weather transition.
I am going to plant all of the bulbs today though...so that is a good thing.
39 and sunny now. Rain due later and through Thursday. I'll be going out to plant around 10 AM.
Thom - you have a Komodor?
Boy! Am I late this morning! Sorry.
Our weather today:
Current temp: 18°
Skies: cloudy, followed by more clouds
Winds are calm and from the East (does that mean that pixie's weather will be on my doorstep?
Dew Point: 16°
Humidity: 93%
Visibility: 4 miles
Barometric Pressure: 30.44 and rising
I only believe the weather reports after 24 hours has passed. It seems that the forecasters are correct only about 10% of the time.
Yes I do. And contrary to popular belief, she is the complete antithesis of the breed. The first time I took her to the vet that Paul has always used, the vet was shaking...in fear. Her prior association with any Koms was while she was training. The vet said that the Koms she had previously taken care of needed to be muzzled, and or sedated to be checked out. My Kom, Theta, wagged her tail the whole time, let her check her from tip to stern, and gave her a puppy kiss...the vet was like, "OMG!" She's an 84lb mush...the worst guard dog ever. She'd hide in her crate if there were intruders in the house, I think Iris and Ivy would beat the intruders up more than Theta...lol.
Sweet photo
Thom - she's not in dreadlocks?
Was hoping to pop my bulbs into my veggie box but it's still frozen. Tomorrow should be warmer.
We made the most of the sunshine and got in three hours of gardening. The asparagus fronds have been cut and are on the chipping pile but the garden still needs a bit of weeding and compost. We did get plants in the ground and just one remains to be planted, some big pots brought in and then we're done.
That sez it all.
So do blue lips and extremities!
Smufs!
Smurf warnings - seem to recall Asrial as being a mean cat.
I found this out on the mindless net looking up Asrial - - -
"There is a conspiracy theory (either not a serious one, or a very paranoid one) that "The Smurfs" the old T.V. show, was communist propaganda disguised as childrens entertainment. S.M.U.R.F. stands for "Socialist men under a red father". The evidence was that the Smurfs leader, Papa smurf wore all red and that Gargamel was supposed to represent the capitalist upper-class, as he was constantly trying to catch the smurfs so he could enslave them."
They were commies! ..........and I thought Papa Smurf was a dictator ;)
and then there were the Teletubbies. Some people just have too much time on their hands. Now I hear there's conspiracy theories about Sesame Street! Please!
Howdy Doody remains safe, thankfully.
I don't know, Pirl.......he had RED hair, didn't he? Pinko Commie? He sort of seemed like he was up to something.......
Yankeecat...if you were to speak to, pretty much, all the Kom breeders who show for confirmation, they would all agree, the only reason to have your Kom dreaded up, is for the show ring. I tried, up until she was about 2 1/2 to leave them corded up, essentially Theta was a walking dust mop...she stunk, the summer time, she was absolutely miserable. You know your dog needs a hair cut when: an airconditioner, 10K btu, in a 12x12 room, on full blast with an oscilating fan, box fan on the floor, and ceiling fan, aren't making said pet comfortable...on top of giving baths with the garden hose atleast once a week (they take about 2-3 days to dry fully.) I just gave up. So, once a year, I trim her down to about 2-3"...it takes about 18 hours, because the cords are actually mats that are seperated to the base where hair/skin meet, so cords have to be cut individually. lol. It's a lot of maintenance, she is also not altered, so, there is also that to deal with. I want her corded up, because once Koms are corded up, they are very extremely light shedders.
38 during the night with a lot of rain, I kept waking up hearing it hit the windows. Now 34 with light snow. Fortunately there is NOT a layer of ice under that snow.
Good morning, Deb!
Thom: I have a Sheltie, so I can sympathize with the constant grooming!
Our weather today:
We have 34° now. It was 32° when I got up. It's raining, and building up layers of ice. If I dare, I may go outside later to take pictures.
The high is supposed to be 37° today. I'm thinking that it will actually reach that high temp today.
The Dew Point is 32°
The Humidity is 96%
Visibility is 5 miles
Barometric Pressure is 29.80 and falling
The winds are calm
Sunrise: 7:11 Sunset: 4:14
48 here! Warm today, but cooling down later this PM and snow tomorrow.
52 here with winds from 4 to 16 MPH. Time to finish up for the year and pick that lettuce.
Guess I'll go see if I can find the leaks!
Thom - with out the cord she looks like a standard poodle! Never thought that the cords would be uncomfortable for the dog! Thanks for the info!
