I have turned over all my beds and covered them with horse manure. I read that it's not a good idea to leave the manure on top of the soil because the nutrients will leach out, last year I covered them with straw and I really don't want to do that again if I don't have to. I dug some rock phosphate and compost into the soil, then added the manure--- your advise would be much appreciated.
Preparing beds for Winter
dguimo, did you ever get an answer to your question on another thread?

Thanks for letting me know ecrane. I noticed the 0 replies and thought I'd better bump the thread.
My beds look great, I added some ashes from the wood burning stove yesterday and just raked them in a bit. They're covered with manure,-- come on Spring! I've been getting pounds of coffee grounds from Starbucks for the compost pile. Doccat5 replied and I did check out info through google. Thanks so much you guys!!!!
