Anita,

I would be interested in a hybridizing article or one showing how to care for Irises and how to divide the rizomes.

How about irises, small ID paragraphs, which are American, I.versicolor, virginica, verna, crestata etc. Some people know about PCNs. but I assume you wish articles on east ern area plants. Why some states are banning new planting of pseudacorus (their pods will float) as invasive.

Hi Anita,
Here is a reblooming hybridizing question:

Why do SOME reblooming seedlings rebloom the first year, while OTHER reblooming seedlings will take up to 4 years before they start reblooming? Do some reblooming seedlings mature quicker than others? Or is there another reason?

Anita,........ Will you be getting back to us with the answers after you've wrote the articles? I'd be interested in seeing the answers. :-)

Ladysaltfire - I wish I saved the page that I printed to divide my iris this year.... it helped me so much... very easy to understand directions... but I didn't

but I did find a couple of pages that might help with that... the second link is close to the one I used

Allison,

Thank you. I really liked that second site. My front bed is overflowing, because I was afraid to divide. Now, this gives me clear directions for next fall. Very much appreciated.

I am including a link for you to view. It was recommended on another forum. It has basically the same information, just written different.

The only problem with the farm-garden article is that it advised adding sand to clay. In heavy clay areas, adding sand can create almost a concrete mixture so it's better to stay with more natural amendments.
