I thought I'd be able to ID this iris just by viewing the iris Plant Files. HA-what a surprise I got! Had no idea there were so many varieties and cultivars. Thought asking some experts was a better plan.
Got these from my mom (in PA), but she only knew they were a type of iris. I thought a Juno iris b/c of the strappy leaves, but I truly only know enough about iris to be dangerous.
BTW, I also have a white version of this same plant. I ended up planting them all together b/c I couldn't distinguish the purple from the white when they were dormant; however, some of the whites now have a faint purple streaking. I don't recall them having that in years past, but perhaps I just didn't notice it before.
Any help would be most appreciated!
ID help, please!
Looks like Dutch Iris to me...maybe Professor Blau (???)
I'll check that out--thanks Jasper!
