Tropical iris - for south Florida

Lafayette, IN(Zone 5a)

Neomarica caerulea is a beautiful, tropical iris from Brazil. It grows very well in the Miami area. It usually begins flowering in late August and continues through February. Here is a photo of some flowers on the plant in my yard. The flowers are incredibly fragrant, last just one day, but bloom again in a few days.

Do you know if it is salt tolerant?

I do not know whether it is salt tolerant. If you live near the ocean, you might try planting it on the other side of the house, away from the saltwater as much as possible. For those of you who live in the Miami area, I know that there will be some of these plants for sale this weekend at Fairchild Garden's Ramble. (Nov 17 & 18).
