unbelievable amount of trash to treasure

I work in an automotive shop and convienced my boss to let me save up all the scrap metal. The company forbids anyone keeping anything going to the trash but I told the boss we would use any money made to throw a party for the shop. After one month I borrowed my dad's truck (he has a lift gate) and loaded up the metal and went to the salvage yard. We had 3,420 lbs of scrap metal. Can you imagine? Over 1 ton in less than a month. At 5 cents a pound we had a nice cookout and I changed the oil on my Dad's truck and filled it up with gas. I also got permission to do it again next month.
