Vacation Pics

Danvers, MA

Hello All,

Since I don't have a yard with feeder's galore (yet... Hoping to buy a home soon) I thought that I would post a few pics from Florida this past January.

This first one was taken in the Everglades. It was taken with our little pocket Digital camera through a more experienced birders scope. Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think it is a Green Heron.

The only one in this pic that I can confidently ID is The White Pelican

Let me try all:

Green Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret.

Lets see if I'm right. :-)

Brainerd, MN

Definitely a Green Heron. I saw one for the first time this summer. Crazy looking and acting bird!

Ditto to Pelletory: Green Heron, Great Egret, Snowy Egret.

Thanks for the ID's everyone.

Turns out I'm not as bird poor as I thought. While fresh out of the shower this morning, I looked out my bedroom window and saw a WB Nuthatch, then I looked closer at what I thought were sparrows and saw that they were actually Junco's. I was in my robe with soaking wet hair, I threw open the window (35 degrees F) and tried to take a pic, but they were scared off by me opening the window, or me in my robe :).

Oh well, now I know that they exist in my little area of the world.
