Bedsprings Trellis

When I was a child growing up in the 60's I remember my grandmother growing her sweet peas up an old mattress support (the ones with "chain links" that were used instead of box springs). I thought that's what everyone did! So, after getting married and buying our first house, I was delighted to find an old mattress support in the barn. I leaned it against the barn and grew my morning glories up along it. You can imagine that I was happy as a clam, even though my husband was mortified. Unfortunately, he only let me keep it up for two years. I thought it looked great!
