Batting down the hatches. Brought some of the hibs in, that were falling over from the winds. More than likely, will bring all 10" and smaller, pots to protect from Tropical Storm Noel. Busy day, tomorrow.

Dublin, CA(Zone 9a)

Wow Cat--I love your Ring of Fire! I so wish mine would look like that--it never had the beautiful color definition like you have. Last time it bloomed it was almost solid red, no yellow edge at all. Must be that Florida humidity!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the storm misses you...between that and the winds and fire that tried to get Karen's plants, I guess it's not a very good time for hibiscus!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Darn, it looks like Noel will stay in your neighborhood a couple of days then head right out to sea. Not that I want to see any damage but a tropical storm is bearable and the folks in GA sure need the rain. Hopefully it will be wide enough to give them a sprinkle or two.
We had a high wind advisory yesterday but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary here; the other side of the island was another story, they are a mess.

Tulsa, OK

Cat - LOVE your ring of fire, curly, David, Mystic + + + they are so brilliant looking - you must have a show stopper of a garden!! I hope Noel doesn't do too much damage - be safe - at least you will have some beautiful blooms to look at while inside along with your furry kiddos! Keepin my fingers crossed for you...

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You make me nuts. I want them all.

last one for today: Raggae Breeze.

I brought in all 42 plants that were bordering my chain link fence. We have had wind gusts in the 40's and 50 mph. Lots of squalls, and we get to go thru this for 2 more days.

Gosh I hope your garden doesn't flood again Cat. Bet your home looks fabulous with all those hibiscus inside. :-)

Ardesia,
My patio looks like hibiscus Heaven! They are all protected by my pool table covering, on 2 sides. It's like a relaxing haven out there.
The other babies are holding up well, outside.
A few plants have lots of yellowing leaves, to be expected, from all the stress.
I put extra strong stakes on the long, tall ones, to support against the winds.
Right now, the ground is soaked, but no flooding yet. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
I'll try and sneak out between rain storms, to take some pics.

I know I am the only one posting pics, right now. I hope that's ok. I love looking at new blooms, so I hope everyone else does, too.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

Well heaven forbid, I don't want to leave you out there by yourself. LOL

Cat - post away - I LOVE your pics. It's always so clear not to mention I love looking at the blooms & all the variations. 42 plants to bring in? MY GOODNESS - heaven help your back - mine would be completely out of wack by now! I have 15 to bring in over the winter & that's a 2 week process! :) Glad to hear that you (& hibbies) are ok & keepin fingers crossed that there's no flooding!

Alvin, TX(Zone 9a)

WOW, Cat!! STUNNING!!

Tulsa, OK

ardesia - You're June's Joy is breath-taking. Is this all on one branch or did you pick then cluster them?

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 9a)

I cheated; I picked and clustered them. They are floating in a bowl on my kitchen table as I write this and they look so cheerful.
