If anyone is thinking about visiting the basin I reccomend the site klamathbirdingtrails.com Three days is not enough time to cover the whole area, and you can go back through an area every day and see some thing new. I'm hoping to go back in January when the Bald Eagles and the Snow is there. The one Eagle that I saw on this trip was on the third day and I was heading home. This was th third time I'd gone to this area. I saw and photographed so many hawks (mostly Red tails) that I'M going to do a seperate post on them.

Thanks so much for taking the time to post all these!

Oh geez lets hope nothing more would happen in Cali. their having such an awful time right now.
Wow!! I'm knocked out by the great variety of bird life you see there!! Thanks so much for sharing these photos. With the exception of just a few I was unfamiliar with all of them!
lilyfantn Some of the birds are year round residents, but there is quite a variety depending on the time of the year
Adel: I used to go camping up in Bishop every year....I was too small then to even think about the birds. I do remember us catching lots of trout.
betterbloom..............there should be good bird activity along the Colorado River.
