Japanese Iris Question

Japanese iris are hardy to Z9 but you are at the upper end of their hardiness, and might want to give them some shade.

In your climate they will do well year round with a lot of water. In zones where it freezes they should not have their crowns under ice. They do not need a period of dryness.
