How do you make clytostoma(lavender trumpet vine) bloom?

Scottsdale, AZ(Zone 9b)

this has been in my yard and looks healthy but no blooms. I also see this in containers in several local nurseries with no blooms. The only ones with blooms have been recently brought from CA nurseries. Any help/suggestions are appreciated to make this bloom. Thanks in advance.

Some vines need to be starved and parched to bloom. Have you been feeding it and watering it regularly? If yes, stop the food and only water when dry 1-2 inches down into the soil.

I asked a man at the nursery early in the summer if they bloomed all summer or just in the spring. He told me that they bloom only in the spring. Did you have it in the spring or is it a new planting?

Hi Patsy,
It bloomed in spring once and 2nd year has one bloom. That is it.
Xeramtheum--it is on drip system and does not get much water. I actually forgot to feed this year(bad mommy) but I gave it atleast 5 years. Don't know what to do but it looks very healthy.
