I know what you mean. My parents lived near here in the 70s and the difference is striking. While we live right next to the highway, we're in the San Luis Rey River valley, and some of the land is protected, so they can't build up to our doorstep. Also, there is a minimum lot size. We usually get a variety of birds because we're in a migration corridor.

My gd has been here all week so I haven't had much time. I take her home tonight and tomorrow were are adding insulation to the attic. So maybe next week I can get caught up!
Love the buck! Our deer moving around alot now with the begining of rut. We had momma & the twins come out the other night. We have one with a single fawn, one w/twins & one w/triplets.
