Ricotta contains 6 grams of protien per 1/4 cup, I've been making a smooth-healthy-berry shake for my breakfast each morning - here are the ingreideints I use:
In the blender: add 1 c. Skim milk
1 tablespoon of Flax meal
1 handful of frozen berries (I like the frozen "mixed" berries)
1 scoop of protien powder (found in health food stores or even at your local Walmart)
2 heaping tablespoons of Ricotta cheese
Blend for "liquefy" setting - enjoy! The protien in the shake keeps me going untill about 11am each day & then I either do lunch or have a healthy snack of some sort.
Ricotta is not "only" for baking.....Health shake!
