A visit to the vitamin shop, now I'm puzzled.

Hulbert, OK(Zone 7a)

A couple days ago, a quick visit to the vitamin shop
for something to help dry skin left me confused.

Certainly not to assume the woman was scamming me, she
instructed me to stand straight with feet together, left hand
holding a particular bottle at my neck, right arm extended with
thumb facing down. She then told me to resist as she pushed
my right arm down.

I wasn't quite certain what she was doing, but when she told me
to hold a different brand, then performed the same test, I thought
this must be a joke. The bottles were the same size and weight.
The brand did not matter. Does anyone know what on earth this
woman was doing, or thinking?

Next, she kept pushing my arm down, each time repeating the question
"How many do I need to take a day, one?" Then "How many do I need
to take a day, two?" She exclaimed something to express surprise when
she said "Three a day? Four a day?"

Huh? Honestly, either I was in a complete state of naievity, or this woman
is trained to spot a sucker.

She did not try to sell me additional information, nor higher priced
products, and prior to the little physical routine, the other salesperson
was extremely helpful. The idea was to buy a supplement, which I
did. A thyroid supplement. (???)

So I have to ask. I'm healthy, have long healthy hair and nails, full of
energy, yet my skin is dry. What on earth does a thyroid supplement
have to do with this? One clerk looked at my nails and said they looked
lovely, the next said I had ridges. Both the other clerk and myself again
inspected my nails and saw no ridges.

Seems a different brand of soap or lotion was in order, not a vitamin.

I feel like an idiot.
