Azalea has a bloom....IN OCTOBER?????

Bartlesville, OK(Zone 6a)

I went out this morning and what did I find? a bloom on the azalea. Wow!! The weather is so weird, I have had this azalea for over 20 years and it has never done this.

Just had to share. LOL

Sometimes fall weather seems like springtime. My azaleas and a few Irises are blooming too. It does seem weird.

There are some varieties that will do that on a regular basis (think: the Encore Azaleas) and others who do it when the weather tricks them. In the latter case, all you can do is smile and enjoy the show! PS - I even have had a non-remontant hydrangea do that (less than a month ago) as well as some gardenias (in previous years).
