I see that the ICRA has designated an official registrar for Gladiolus: http://www.ishs.org/sci/icralist/49.htm
But I can't find a checklist (official or unofficial) of cultivar names. Does one exist?
Checklist of Gladiolus cultivars?
I found this to an Gladiolus registry for North America
http://www.empirestategladiolus.com/registry.htm
Adding the British Gladiolus Society link, they may be able to give information on cultivars here.

A link on this site to the Russia, Moscow Gladiolus Society (if you can decipher the language!). There are a few growers/breeders around that region, one in Lithuania I think I found.

This is a grower, the son has taken on the business after his father passed away but he works so it may not continue. They do have a lot of very interesting cultivars, and may be of help in providing other registry lists.

Thanks, Wallaby! I've contacted the people at the first link you provided. Since they have a registration form and rules, I'm hopeful they also have a checklist of some sort, or know where one exists.
You're welcome Terry! They should be able to provide you with a list, I think there are a lot of people who would like to know what cultivars are registered too. There seems to be a lack of sharing of knowledge in this field, maybe that can be changed.
Terry, I was wondering if you had any luck with a checklist.
wallaby, I haven't found one...yet. The hunt continues ;o)
Terry, raydio posted a link to the ISHS on the Amaryllis forum. I followed the link at the bottom which gave a Directory of ICRAs, where there is a link to the North American Gladiolus Council.
This has listings for non species from 1958

From here,

The link you posted in your first post is on the Taxonomic list, for species and early cultivars. I got this link from the bottom of the first link I posted.

Thanks Wallaby! It took me a bit of digging around to find the actual checklist, but here's the .pdf file with the checklist: http://www.gladworld.org/Classif.%202007-5%20%20.cwk%20(DB).pdf
That will be a big help in getting the gladiolus entries straight(er) in PlantFiles.
The link doesn't give the list Terry, but I found it in the Downloads Classification list on NAGC. Who would have thought it would be so easy, lol.
I've been hunting on the KAVB site for the rest, there is a pdf which gives maybe a clue.
http://www.kavb.nl/uploads/Subcommissies%20Nomenclatuur.pdf
Subcommissies Nomenclatuur
Secretariaat:
KAVB, de heer J. van Scheepen, Postbus 175, 2180 AD Hillegom
Tel. 0252-536954, e-mail: vanscheepen@kavb.nl
Gladiool
Voorzitter: "De heer C. Steenvoorden, Hillegom"
That's probably a prominent grower, as Geerlings is listed there for Zantedeschia, they are major growers.
A list on links too, the plantscope.nl site I found the complete list of Hippeastrums recently, but put in Amaryllis to get it in the search. The same could be possible with Gladiolus, will try it.
http://www.kavb.nl/index.cfm?act=teksten_emenu.tonen&main=5&sub=44&subsub=59&page=59
(the second French link is one for vegetables by the looks)
Yep, I got a heap of Gladiolus with pics! This site could be used for almost any ornamental plant, maybe just bulbs. You will have to select 'by product name' then type in gladiolus, funnily it says (347), same number as the Amaryllis. There are numbers at the left of each cultivar which give more info.
http://www.plantscope.nl/pls/pscprdpub/psc_htm_utils.psc_startframeset?pnTalId=1
Adding that if you click on 'details nomeclature' instead of 'show' when the search results come up , it will give them listed alphabetically.

Well, my link was supposed to go to the list. There's a recent hiccup in our hyperlinks ;o)
I tried to post the list tooTerry, it didn't work but the other pdf I posted did.
This is the site mentioned in the pdf, I have come across their pics of Gladiolus before but this gives a list of other plants which might be useful. Click on the 'English' link at the top, then 'Products'
