Hi all. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm new to orchids. Always have loved them but afriad I wouldn't get them to grow. Just bought one at a green house in Iowa. They are having their 50% off sale so I figure now would be a good time to get one. It is a Phal but I'm not sure of the name. Maybe I'll get a picture a little later. They said not to repot it while it's blooming so I'll wait. But I'm wondering if anyone can tell me a good time to repot as it's just in a plastic container right now?

It will be a while. Phals bloom a long time. Don't cut the spike and the tip will grow more flowers. With some plastic containers, I just slip them into a pottery pot.
