Louisiana Iris Seed?

Fremont, CA(Zone 9a)

Here is a photo of what I thought was seed from a Louisiana Iris. They just don't look right for iris, but this is my first from this plant. About the size of a small garbanzo, but light and fluffy like corn puffs.
Does anyone recognize this type of seed from Louisiana Iris (this one is Black Gamecock)

Do iris come true to seed? I have Blk Gamecock and Hushmoney but I have never tried planting seeds only divisions.

I do not expect them to come true from seed.
I am just asking for someone to verify that these truly look like Louisiana Iris seed, maybe something else was also growing in the pot and my wonderful lack of labeling is truly leading me astray.

I am going to plant them and see what I get. The only L I that I have are Black Gamecock and Hand Maiden.

I grow LA iris seed like so.

Carefully peel off the corky surround, or at least most of it. Then I float the seeds in a glass of water on the kitchen counter with a dash {notice I didn't say splodge} of hydrogen peroxide till they germinate. Then I pot up. Do the same with daylily seeds too. Change water at least weekly.

Thanks, I will probably use a dollop of H³O, just to be different.

We planted some Black Game Cock seeds a month or so ago and they are just now comming up. The strange thing is, a goodly amount are albinos, with no chance of making it. It is best if seeds are planted as soon as they become ripe. your seeds look to be a little older and can take up to a year to germinate. We only have BGC so if any of you would like to trade some other colors I am sure we can find something you would like.
