I bought a violacia from BW back in July or August (I forget when I went) Anyway, it is advertised as being an ornamental and not a host plant. I bought it since all my other passis will be eaten to nothing and I still wanted greenery on my trellis. Well, the frits love it!!! Yes they are eating all the other ones too but I guess they forgot to read that they aren;t suppossed to eat this one.
Does anyone else have cats that don't read and are eating your violacea
frits are eating my P. Violacea
got a picture
Cover it with a fine net
wondering if it is P. atropurpurea. It looks the same as mine and they devour it. When I had Violacea they never touched it. Both are in the plant files but they look the same to me. Wonder if someone can come in and tell us what makes them different. Pic of what was ID'd here for me as atropurpurea when it bloomed and was not Incense that I had purchased
Hmm Donna, let see if anyone can help with that. You are right, they look the same.
Phicks, I don't care of they eat it, just wish I knew it. Not a biggie.
FLutter
i have ones that the cats dont touch that make good fruit
Does your look like ours Paul? Do you see a difference?
Chris
Donna's petals hang downward. Maydreams petals are horizontal. Don't know if that changes anything, but it could be the difference.
mine looks diff
Ohh, Donna, does your flowers over extend, meaning when you look at them from the side they do this (of course this is a vitifolia) but same concept

Either way, still in the same boat. Lots more frits on my so called violacea
