Science fiction or reasonable conclusion?
Different cultures have developed calendars that predict an end time. The Mayan date is Dec. 2012.
I've read that some astromoners/astrologers think the sun will soon enter the equatorial dark rift of the Milky Way. Around that time the sun will begin to undergo a shift involving its gravitational solar matter. Monster solar flares will bombard our beautiful blue planet with radiation and heat. Earthquakes, worldwide floods, the whole shebang.
Interesting to think about.
