What a Nice Surprise!

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

I decided to repot my Uncarina Rosealiana Today
I had no idea what she was up to!
She had 3 tap roots, all had left the 6 inch pot and went deep into the larger pot they sat in.
I had to surgically remove the pot with snips and a razor to save the tap roots.
I repotted her and twisted the tap roots below the soil line.
However when I lifted her I found this lovely Caudex forming!!

That'll be one beautiful specimen! Great caudex!

It is amazing how much of the caudex grows underneath. What a great find.
You have some nice sexy legs there. I love the pot, too. Sally

This came from the cactus co-op last year $1.50
I cant believe what this is worth already!
My wife Serena bought the pot, its made of metal
I think it is soo apropriate for the plant.
Im loving her
She should bloom next year.
Then seeds? I hope ;)

When you say "I am loving her" do you mean the plant or your wife? lol. If you say the plant, I can totally relate. Sally

Lol Sally
I meant my wife of course heheee ^^

LOL - y'all are too funny - now this is totally OT - but, have y'all realized we are truly blessed with patient spouses? Mine never questions (as long as there are NO gnats involved) - I show him EVERY new acquisition - he nods, says yey or ney and gives it a coolness factor - names the plant if he feels it is appropriate - and smiles (and rolls his eyes) when I gush away over some new find! His face when I came home with my Dioscorea was priceless! (I thought I had found the holy grail...)

Becky your right. We often talk about how lucky we are our spouses put up with our addiction. However, I can't say I am as honest as you and show him everything I buy. I do sneak some in occasionally! lol Sally

LOL Sally - nah, DH is cool about it - I just showed him one from the latest loot that has a teeeeeny, teeeeny little flower on it - he actually appreciates my addiction and is encouraging - I got him started collecting football paraphernalia a few years ago - and THAT can get expensive - so he says nada on my plants :)

P.S I show them to him, might not admit HOW much it was though :-)
