Used Pine kitty litter in composting or beds?

Anderson, SC(Zone 7b)

I've just switched my cats to pine kitty litter and saw somewhere that someone was composting theirs.

Now, this is very finely ground pine, almost sawdust, and it has guar in it to make it clump. There's no feces in the litter, just urine that's been neutralized by the pine. Actually, with the clumping, there's not going to be that much urine in it, either.

Can I put it in my compost bin or my garden beds?

I wouldn't. It will encourage feral cats to use it, and they will do "number two" in it. It might smell too. And pine is acidic. Don't want to rain on your parade, but I say no to anything that has any domestic excrement in it. Better safe than sorry.

If you do decide to use it, I'd recommend composting it first. But I would use it, although probably not in food beds.
