Mayten Tree in So Carolina/7B?

Anderson, SC(Zone 7b)

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with, or knowledge of, this tree & its hardiness in 7B?

Specifically, what I'm wondering is this - It says it's an evergreen hardy down to 20 degrees, but I know we can go a bit lower on some nights in the winter. If we get a bad freeze, will it just drop its leaves, or will it kill the roots?

If anyone has suggestions for medium sized, fast growing, weeping type trees I'd really appreciate it. I love Weeping Willows, but they're too big for the yard areas I'm planting this fall.

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

It's hardy to about -15°, zone 8/9. I doubt it'll tolerate -20°. Even in Britain, it is only hardy in milder coastal locations.
