One of our vendors at the farmer's market said this seed was mixed with the watermelon seed he planted. Neither on eof us had seen it before.
Can Anyone ID this Melon?
Banana cantaloupe- http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/60239/
Thanks
I thought the taste was off because it wa over-ripe. I guess that is the flavor!
In the picture it does look over ripe. But I have never cared for the taste at any stage. For me they always have a cucumber after taste. There are a few folks who like them tho, not alot, as it has been around for a long time with out ever being popular.
Looks like an old-time Banana melon to me. My grandfather grew & enjoyed them, but no one else in the family would eat them.

But the seeds are so purty! I planted some a few weeks ago.
