Green Product Sources?

Burlingame, CA(Zone 9a)

I thought I'd start a thread about Green Products. We've all seen those few "green" products at the supermarket (cleaning products mainly) but there must be more available. I want to be able to make a better choice about everything I buy. Example: The other day I was looking for some recycled, unbleached printer paper and after a hard search came up with this.

Here I can choose to buy paper that has been produced with wind-power, or from a company that belongs to the Forest Steward Council, or is recycled or uses alternative fibres (did you know you can get paper made form jeans???). None of these papers are available for sale at my local stationery store.

This company sells waste bags (kitchen, garden, pet) and food service products that are compostable. Bags are made from corn starch and "plastic" cutlery is made from potato starch. I use the waste bags and they are great, very sturdy. I'll be getting the bio-degradable cutlery for my kids school lunches since they are not allowed regular steel cutlery at school. And finally there is a practical use for all that GM corn.

What other everyday products that are green, environmentally friendly, made with recycled or renewable resources do you know of?
