...finding fabric from sustainable sources

Charlevoix, MI(Zone 4b)

Do many (any) of you make your own clothes? I sew historical reproduction clothing using natural fibers, wool and linen and on rare occasion, cotton. I've started sewing some of our clothes ( I taught myself about 3 years ago)...nothing that you would want to wear to Cinderella's ball...but things like shorts, pajamas, simple tunic tops, sun dresses, that sort of thing. My problem now is to find organic, all-natural, (free trade if at all possible) fabric. I can find the ready made clothing, but not the fabric itself. Anyone have any ideas? Wool, linen, cotton, silk and even bamboo fabric...I don't care what it is, I just need some!
